01. BackgroundWhen Photos Are the Product, the Site Must Be the Gallery

Shay Regev, a photographer with over 13 years of experience specializing in business headshots, personal portraits, actor books and commercial photography, came to us with a need every photographer recognizes: his existing website wasn't doing justice to the quality of his work. When your product is an image, every pixel of the site itself - loading speed, layout, how the gallery opens - is part of the client's first impression.

The Core Challenge: we needed a site that could present very different photography styles side by side - classic business portraits, intimate personal portraiture, dramatic actor books and documentary-editorial work - without feeling fragmented, while staying fast and ranking for competitive photography-related search terms.

02. ApproachA Dark-Mode Design That Lets the Photos Speak

We chose a deep black palette with warm gold accents, so every image in the gallery gets full attention - just like in a photography exhibition. The homepage opens with a sharp visual statement ('Capture the Moment') and leads straight into a portfolio filtered by category: actor test/book, headshots, business/personal portraits, camera confidence, editorial and video.

Beyond the gallery, we built an SEO-focused content structure: dedicated service-area pages, a professional blog with guides like 'How to Prepare for a Headshot Session' and 'How Much Does a Headshot Session Cost', and video integration alongside instant WhatsApp contact buttons - turning every interested visitor into a lead in one click.

Engines Behind the Project

Dynamic Portfolio Gallery

A portfolio filtered by category - headshots, portraits, actor books, editorial and video - so every potential client instantly finds the style relevant to them.

Artistic Dark-Mode Design

A black palette with gold accents that amplifies the contrast and depth of the black-and-white photography, giving every image a gallery-like feel.

SEO Service-Area Pages

A dedicated page structure for service areas and photography types, generating broad organic visibility against competitors in the headshot photography space.

A Blog That Converts

Practical guides like 'How to Prepare for a Headshot Session' and 'How Much Does a Headshot Session Cost' that answer real client questions and attract targeted organic traffic.

Video & One-Click Leads

Professional video integration alongside a persistent WhatsApp button, shortening the path from browsing the gallery to booking a session.

We turned Shay's personal portfolio into a living marketing tool: a site that showcases his photography at the highest level, is structurally built to rank for competitive headshot-photography search terms, and shortens the path from first impression to booked session.
The Impact

What should a photographer’s website offer when the product is the image?

When the product is an image, the website itself is part of the impression: loading speed, the design and the way the gallery opens. A photographer’s website therefore has to give the photos the stage. For Shay Regev we chose deep black with gold touches, like a gallery exhibition, and a portfolio filtered by category: actor headshots, corporate, business and personal portraits, press and video. The challenge was to present very different services without the site feeling fragmented. The answer is a clear structure, quick filtering and a consistent design. That is how we approach every website build: first understand what the client sells, then design around it.

Beyond the gallery, a photographer’s website has to bring in enquiries. We built service-area pages and pages for the different types of photography, plus a blog with guides such as "how to prepare for a corporate photo shoot" and "how much does a corporate shoot cost", which answer real client questions. A fixed WhatsApp button shortens the path to booking a session. An image-heavy site must also be fast: one widely used guideline is a Largest Contentful Paint of 2.5 seconds or less, and it helps to choose suitable hosting and security. A similar structure of service pages and blog appears in the lawyer Motlak Badran website.
