01. BackgroundThe Logistics Challenge

Logistics and delivery companies face a massive gap between the back office and the field. The challenge was to create a single platform that seamlessly bridges automatic order intake from suppliers and route planning, and provides a paperless tool for field teams without relying on lengthy phone calls.

The Core Challenges:

  • Sales Channel Synchronization: The need for automatic ingestion of orders from various suppliers and e-commerce websites into one central system.
  • Smart Scheduling & Planning: Developing a fast, user-friendly system to assign hundreds of orders to delivery routes and manage vehicle fleets simultaneously.
  • Office-Field Disconnect: Drivers and measurers require a simple mobile-adapted tool that updates statuses, captures signatures, and opens service calls in real-time with the office.

02. ApproachThe Logicode Solution

End-to-end development and design of a custom ERP system from scratch. We engineered a smart system that automatically identifies the employee's role upon login and routes them exactly to the interface relevant to them.

While managers and office staff gain full access to the dashboard, reports, and extensive scheduling via desktop, field teams (drivers and measurers) are routed directly to a lightweight mobile app, free of distractions, displaying only their specific daily work schedule.

Core System Components

Smart Role-Based Routing

The system identifies the role and adapts the experience. Managers go to the office dashboard, while field teams are automatically routed to the mobile app without exposure to sensitive info or unnecessary screens.

Field Team App

A dedicated interface for drivers and measurers to view schedules, update stop statuses in real-time, capture digital signatures, and monitor network connectivity.

Drag & Drop Scheduling Calendar

A weekly coordination board allowing the office to drag orders, assign them to delivery routes, and generate an organized work manifest with a single click, greatly streamlining dispatcher work.

E-Commerce API Integration

A seamless webhook connection between the system and external virtual stores. Orders are automatically pulled into the system along with customer details, preventing double data entry and human error.

Live Office Notifications

A smart alert center for the office that pops up in real-time when there are new unscheduled orders, or when drivers report field failures requiring immediate attention.

A stable, fast system that transformed a cumbersome, paper-heavy workflow into a fully digital, measurable, and transparent process. Managers enjoy full control, while the field operates at peak efficiency.
The Impact

What does a custom ERP system for logistics include?

An ERP for logistics is a single platform that brings orders, work planning and field crews together, instead of spreadsheets, paperwork and long phone calls. At Fredi the challenge was the gap between head office and the field: orders arriving from suppliers and online stores, hundreds of deliveries to assign to routes, and drivers and surveyors who need a simple mobile tool. A project like this starts by mapping how the work actually happens, then defining roles and permissions, so that a manager sees a full dashboard while a driver sees only today’s schedule. From there we build one data model that every screen relies on. That is how we approach all of our advanced systems development: the system is fitted to the workflow, not the other way around.

In principle, a logistics ERP is made of several layers: order intake and integration with e-commerce sites through an API, a scheduling calendar where the office drags an order onto a delivery route, a mobile app for the field, and alerts that tell the office when a new order is still unassigned or a driver reports a problem. The field interface has to be quick and light, because people who work on the move will not wait on complicated screens. Data should also be protected by role, and the system should sit on properly managed hosting, security and maintenance. Frequently asked questions

What kind of system was built for Fredi Furniture Industries?
A custom ERP built end to end. It recognises the employee’s role at login and routes them to the right interface. Managers and office staff get a dashboard, reports and a calendar, while drivers and surveyors get a mobile app that shows only their own daily work schedule.
What were the main components of the system?
Permission-based interface routing, a field app with real-time status updates and customer digital signatures, a drag-and-drop scheduling calendar that produces a work manifest in one click, API integration with e-commerce sites through webhooks, and a live alert centre for unassigned orders and field issues.
